In The Heart Of Texas is the story of a woman who finds herself in the place she escape from! Jo Randolph is a 41 year old soap star who has been chasing the dream ever since she moved to Hollywood from Midland, Texas at the age of 18. It takes 24 hours for everything to go up in fire when her lover's wife attacks her on the set of a movie. As Jo has to go back to the one place she vowed not to return to, Midland, Texas aka home!

With Jo trying to stay out of the limelight while reconnecting with family, the opportunity to work with kids as a teacher presents itself in a way that she didn't see coming. As she makes the transition of living the star life to a somewhat normal life, a President's visit to the school will bring her right back in the spotlight that will have consequences on her future. With Jo having to choose what life is better, she finally makes a decision that will finally bring her peace in her life with a happy ending that she has been looking for!

This book was amazing and if I didn't have to do any unexpected real life stuff, this book would had been read in a day! I have to admit that at first, I couldn't stand Jo for what she was doing but after getting to know her family and friends, she quickly became one of my favorites in the book for what she was trying to accomplish in her life. The way the book ended was just perfect for what the story told and who can't beat adding a West Texas sunset to end the story!

Thank You to Ginger McKnight-Chavers for writing a great debut novel that I can't wait to see what is to come in the future from you!!
