So Close is the story of a woman who is trying to find her way but at what cost is she willing to give to have the life she always dreamed of. Amanda Luker grew up in a trailer park with a mother who really wasn't there for her. After getting fired from a job and the possibility of going back to the trailer park, a man by the name of Tom Davis and his wife, Lindsay will give her an opportunity to join his campaign. Along the way, she is introduced to Pax Westerbrook who is in love with Amanda but she thinks that the relationship will get in the way of her dreams.

As Amanda learns the political world and deals with her mother who has two other kids that she is constantly leaving behind, a friendship with Lindsay will change her outlook on life. With her life on the upswing, she finally falls in love and marries Pax but with her career, nothing goes right for them. After Amanda learns of a scandal that involves Tom and his mistress, Amanda is forced to lie to her one true friend and after one night, everything will come crashing down. With Amanda left to pick up the pieces, she makes the decision that will change her life for the better and with a bittersweet ending that nobody will see coming!

I'm not gonna lie but there are some parts of this book that made me throw the book down due to how ridiculous to what was going on in the story but I kept coming back until I had the whole book read at an hour that was way to late for me! I get why Amanda made some of the choices she did throughout the book but when that moment that she finally realized that she had enough of the lies, is when I started to like her character. I wasn't expecting that ending that wraps up the story-line and has everyone where they needed to be, it truly was the perfect ending to a whirlwind of a story!

Thank You to Emma McLaughlin & Nicola Kraus for writing a novel that will make you mad at it but still willing to read it just to see how it all ends!!
