The Christmas Joy Ride is a short novel of two women crisscrossing the country to spread the Christmas cheer! When an 85 year old woman named Joy, decided to move to Phoenix from Chicago, to be in a assistant living care and closer to her sons, she has a contest along route 66 for who needs a little Christmas joy! As Joy is loading up her RV, she offers her next door neighbor, Miranda to go with her which Miranda accepts this journey of a lifetime.

As they hit the open road and Miranda getting the story of why Joy is having this contest, it makes Miranda glad to have such a grateful neighbor but sad that she will not be returning with her. As time goes on and with each new stop that spreads the holiday cheer, Joy's health makes a turn for the worse until they makes a fateful stop in Albuquerque that forces Joy to the hospital and Miranda to make the last stop on her own. At the last stop in Flagstaff, Miranda helps a young girl want to help her dad get over being a scrooge but as everything not really go as plan when he shows up from work, a dead battery will make her stay overnight instead of going to the next RV park. As Joy gets better and makes Miranda open an envelope that will change everything but it turns out the cute dad with a young girl will make Christmas really magical for Miranda!

It may be a short novel but it does bring a lot of heart with it, I only wished it ended a little different than what it did, a little glimpse into the future would have been cool to see! You would never see what Joy does in this book for other people and If I had money, I think doing something like that would be awesome to do. It's the perfect book to get you into the Christmas season or anytime during the year!

Thank You to Melody Carlson for writing a great book that will get anyone, anytime of the year in a giving spirit!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley!
